The Concert
The evening's featured artist takes the stage for an intimate, fully acoustic set — no amplifiers, no barrier between the performer and the room.

Cass Café has a stage — small, intimate, and shared with PuppetART's puppet performances, literary events, comedy, theatre, DJ sets, and other performances and presentations. Dinner Concert puts that stage to work on select Saturday evenings: a seated dinner from the heritage menu, then a fully acoustic performance by a Detroit musician or a touring artist passing through Michigan. Guests arrive at 6:00 PM for cocktails and seating, settle in for dinner at 7:00 PM, and by 8:15 PM the room shifts into a listening space — the same tables, the same bar, the same room, but everyone facing the stage.

Why Acoustic
No amplification, no separation between the performer and the table next to you. Cass Café's stage is small by design — close enough to see every fret, every breath between verses. An acoustic set here is a completely different experience than the same artist at a larger venue, and that's entirely the point. Detroit musicians who grew up playing rooms like this, and touring artists who seek out rooms like this when they pass through Michigan.

Every Dinner Concert ticket includes your choice of starter and a main course, each one pulled directly from the recipes Cass Café was loved for over nearly thirty years. Want both soup and salad, or a glass of wine for the table? Add them when you order. All food and beverages are Great Lakes region grown, raised, and produced.

Char-Grilled Black Angus Beef Sirloin House Favorite
An 8 oz. sirloin steak with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and the vegetable du jour, finished with a black peppercorn wild mushroom brandy cream.
Seared Seitan Steak Vegan
A thick-cut seitan steak, seared and finished with the same black peppercorn wild mushroom brandy cream as the sirloin — served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes (vegan) and the vegetable du jour. The same plate, built from the ground up for a plant-based dinner.
Wild Mushroom Cheese Tortellini Vegetarian
Steamed cheese tortellini with wild mushrooms, spinach, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes, tossed in mushroom stock, garlic, and olive oil. Served with garlic bread.
Ahi Tuna Gluten-Free
A char-grilled 8 oz. ahi tuna steak from the original Cass Café menu — marinated in soy and honey, seared over a live flame, served with soy gravy, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, and the vegetable du jour. Clean, complete, and the most requested dish from the original kitchen.
